Northern Business College is a partnership of teaching professionals who specialise in providing qualifications for business administration and computing from Levels 2 to 5 on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF). NBC is registered and accredited by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

Northern Business College (NBC) was formed in 1991 by 5 ex-polytechnic computer lecturers. NBC today consists of 21 teaching partners with an average of 13.5 years teaching experience and 11 years commercial experience.

Over the past decade, NBC has developed into a Centre of Excellence providing exceptional graduate outcomes. In 2002 NBC entered into a strategic alliance with Avonmore Tertiary Academy of Christchurch and is now licensed to offer courses under the Avonmore name. This alliance means that NBC/Avonmore is now able to offer a complete range of business administration and computing training from Level 1 through to Level 5.

Facilities Available

NBC's two campuses in Takapuna and Orewa are based in fully air-conditioned, modern office blocks close to shopping centres, beaches and central to bus routes.

All computer suites are carpeted, furnished with ergonomic secretarial chairs and every student has their own computer and work station for the length of their course

NBC's software and hardware technology is maintained to the latest industry standards including full colour scanners and Email/Internet facilities.

Although our campuses are next door to bakeries and supermarkets, NBC provides snack and cold drink vending machines.

In addition, NBC's student lounges are available at all times with free tea, coffee and microwave facilities.
